How To Replace Car Dome Light Bulb. Either way you should still be able to replace your brake light bulb fairly easily following these steps. Open the bonnet or hood of your vehicle.
Pull the bulb straight out of position. Be very careful not to break the plastic tabs which secure the lens to the dome light. Dome light bulbs do not have standard sockets so you dont need to twist it.
Insert your screwdriver or interior trim removal tool and gently wiggle the lens free.
Take a small screwdriver and insert it in the notch and pop out the cover. Press the spring clamps securing the bulb into the light assembly. Hold the handles then press the sticky part of the tape against the flat surface of the bulb. Find the small opening slot between the lense and plastic molding of the dome light.
